Strength Training for Runners

Program Goals and Details

Objective: Enhance strength and stability tailored for runners.

Overview: This program complements your current running routine, targeting injury rehabilitation and prevention.

  • Strength Training:  Run Faster and Feel Better doing it

  • Rehab Focus: Ideal for those with injuries or nagging pains, offering group support while building strength.

  • Injury Prevention: Strengthen your body to reduce the risk of future injuries and improve your running performance.

Key Features:

  • Improve Hip Strength, Leg Strength, Single leg Balance and stability, Foot and Ankle Strength, and Core strength 

  • Running Drills: Incorporates drills and mechanics training specific to running.

  •  Semi-personalized prescriptions address common issues like:

    •   Plantar Fasciitis

    •   IT Band Syndrome

    •   Shin Splints

    •   Runner’s Knee

    •   And more!

Program Structure:

  • Delivery: Accessible via an app.

  • Schedule: Two meetings per week. If you are unable to attend, you have access to the workout in the app. 

  • Community Support: Online platform for accountability and celebrating achievements.

  • Expert Guidance: Led by and coaching provided by Doctors of Physical Therapy specializing in runner care.

Where: Ground to Overhead Physical Therapy 

 

Program Dates: December 2nd - January 31st 

 

Sessions per week: 2 In person with access to the program through App on phone.

 

Days of the sessions will be Tuesdays and Fridays; there will be 20 total training sessions. (10 weeks long) 

Note: We will work through the holidays but the in person sessions will be adjusted based on the ​holiday schedule!

Price: $20 per session x 16 programmed sessions = $320

​
