Adaptive Fitness

Small Group Training for Adaptive Athletes

We help individuals with disabilities and unique health conditions use fitness as a way to improve their function, improve their long-term health, and improve their quality of life through small group training regardless of age, circumstance, ability, or disability.

What is an adaptive athlete?:

Adaptive athletes are athletes! An athlete is an individual striving to perform better in their sport (life!), be healthier, and live a higher quality of life. Many times athletes may have disabilities and unique health conditions which impact their health and their ability to function "Normally" in the fitness setting. These athlete may be an individual who experienced a significant injury, a neurological event, or who was born with a certain neurological condition. Adaptive athletes recognize that they CAN improve their functionality, they CAN improve their long-term health, and they CAN improve their quality of life, regardless of their current physical situation.

Adaptive athletes may be individuals with (but not limited to!)

Spinal Cord Injuries

Amputations

Cerebral Palsy

Individuals who have experienced a Stroke.

Individuals in Wheelchairs.

Down Syndrome

Here at GO PT we help these athletes improve their quality of life and improve their long-term health by improving their fitness and function throughout life!

We are more than personal trainers or fitness coaches. We are Doctors of Physical Therapy and Strength and Conditioning specialist who have studied and trained in helping individuals with unique health conditions (spinal cord injuries, stroke, CP, individuals in wheel chairs, those who have experienced a spinal cord injury, and those with amputations). Because of this, we are able to help you achieve the results you want and live a higher quality of life!
